Why Partner with Us?
Mentoring is a cost-saving method for investin in our nation's economic and social future. Taken from a purely fiscal point of view, as a result of mentoring, a child facing adversity develops into a productive adult member of society many times offsets the cost of the initial mentoring match. Throughout history, the succes and development of subsequent generations has been the metric and legacy of every society. Youth mentoring is an evidence-based, cost-effective and reliable pathway for our generation to ensure future fiscal and social responsibility.
A Strong Social Return on Investment
Based on a study at the University of Minnesota, it is clear that mentoring can play a significant role in reducing the economic and social costs of juvenile delinquency and in helping prepare youth to become productive tax-paying adults of the future. It is suggested that the total benefits per youth is equal to $7,426. Benefits include:
- Improved school attendance and performance - leading to increased graduation rates, increased post-secondary education and higher lifetime earnings
- Reduced truancy - resulting in reduced school costs and reduced high school dropouts
- Improved health outcomes - including reductions in teen pregnancy, reduced use of tobacco, alcohol or illicit drugs
